A visit to an ice cave that has become an almost annual pilgrimage, a glacier that has unintentionally turned into an “archive,” changing each year and giving way to a lake formed from its own mass, gradually eroding it.
This work focuses on the photographic medium and archive of this natural landmark, documented since the mid-19th century, at a time when there were no roads, hotels, or tourists nearby.
It is a record of something — or someone — that will no longer exist in a few years.
