“Le marais” is exhibited and represented by Fisheye Gallery Paris.
Etienne Francey offers a dreamlike vision of nature. In a constant quest to transform reality, and the wild world in particular, he uses a variety of devices to distort, colour and illuminate, sometimes coming close to painting or the abstract.
From childhood, the photographer felt drawn to nature. He quickly became aware of the consequences and impact of human activity on nature. Butterflies no longer return to the fields they used to occupy; meadows are gradually being replaced by buildings. So begins a quest. To capture the traces of life in a changing natural world. By dint of field excursions, plants and animals are revealed in acidulous colours that call out to the eye. Saturated, they are the expression of the photographer’s dream world. In this series, movement gives rhythm to the images and helps to magnify them, but it also illustrates frenzy and change. It’s like writing an evanescent paradise.
