Aimée Hoving’s artistic practice straddles the real and the imaginary. She draws inspiration from her surroundings: her loved ones, nature and its cycles, and the most intimate spheres of our lives. She captures this energy and transforms it into photography, exploring both the light and dark sides of human beings. Her Dutch heritage is reflected in her treatment of light, reminiscent of Flemish painting. She thus opens a door to her inner world, both singular and universal, bringing a child’s gaze to a transformed reality.
