I came across these cans crushed in the gutter around my home: maximum recycling of waste, aluminium replaced by platinum/palladium, I hang your rubbish on the wall... Sublimating rubbish to elevate it to the status of a symbolic representation of contemporary consumption is the challenge of this series. Entitled ‘Canettes’. It immortalises one of our society's flagship products. The large-format shots, printed in platinum/palladium, transform each image into a rare object. Not content with being unveiled as a work of art in its own right, the common aluminium waste becomes a witness to the history of consumerism. From then on, it seems to belong to the highly selective world of cabinets of curiosities.
