Born in Geneva in 1987, Adrien Golinelli studied literature in Geneva and Tokyo. Winner of the Paris Photo Young Talent Award in 2012 for his work in North Korea, which was published in 2013 by Éditions de La Martinière. In 2016, he published a second book with Kehrer Verlag, Stillborn City, about the ghost town of Ordos in China. His work has been widely exhibited, notably at Paris Photo, the Voies Off festival in Arles, the Krisal gallery in Geneva, the FOCALE gallery, the Fondazione Querini Stampalia, and the Photo Phnom Penh festival. Known for his work on autocratic regimes, Adrien Golinelli explores the “bittersweet” atmosphere of post-dictatorship in his series The Sour Taste of Pomegranate.
